Schools in Austria ;)

Education in Austria- some basic information:

Compulsory school starts in Austria at the age of five when they go to Kindergarten, but also many children at the age of 3-4 also attend Kindergarten.

At the age of 6 children attend Volksschule for 4 years and then they can choose between

·         Gymnasium                 

®     both types of schools are compareable with junior high school

·         Neue Mittelschule

Children have to stay there for 4 years also and then they can choose between:

·         another 4 years Gymnasium

·         when you went to school for 9 years you are allowed to start working

·         you can also choose BHS ( Berufsbildende Höhre Schulen). This types of schools offer a specific education. For example when you are interested in computers and machines you will choose HTL.

When you want to finish going to school you have to sit an exam called Matura. It’s like SAT and ACT.

I go to Bundesgymnasium Tanzenberg. It’s a bit different than other types of Gymnasiums because in Tanzenberg you can’t choose between different languages. You have to take Latin. The majors are Maths,German,English and I also learn Ancient Greek. Our school also offers a lot of free time activities: Band, Drama, ECDL,....

In my opinion it’s also very good that the building is in the nature and not in the city and our school also has a church.

EPISODE: Come on over for a dinner

Now Susan, Bree, Gabrielle and Lynette have this big secret. They make a convention and decide  that the person, who tells something to somebody, will get a big big big problem whit the others. But there is also one good thing for Bree and Gabrielle after this ‘occurrence’. Carlos is so happy that Bree helped to hide Alejandro  that he has now no problem with Gabrielle’s and Brees friendship. In Mysteria Lane everybody is talking about the great dinner party. No one cares what is  wrong with Lynette  and Tom’s marriage. He will left her and she knows that then she is alone with four children and that it will not be easy for her to be a  single mother. It couldn’t go better for Bree and her new lover Chuck. He isn’t married anymore and now they can show everybody that they are happy together. But everybody knows that even when everything goes perfect, a little mistake can change everything......

Dear Nobody..

We have to read a book in english so I choosed the book 'Dear Nobody' by Berlie Doherty. When I looked trough the book shelf the cover of 'Dear nobody' seemed to be very interesting. You can see two faces,a boy and a girl, and Daily Telegraph says that it is the best book,which describes teenager in love. The cover also looks very mysterious and a bit confusing and all over the cover there are small fish and water. I hope the book is also like the cover: confusing,mysterious and romantic.

My favourite music!

I have a lot of favourite bands but metal and punk are the styles of music I like best. My favourite bands are:
Die Ärzte
Rise Against
Foo Fighters
Bullet For My Valentine
Three Days Grace ...
I often listen to music before I go to bed or when I sit in a bus,or when I go somewhere. Music is very important for me because my hobby is dancing. And dancing without music would not make sense.

But “Die Ärzte” are the band I like the most. It's a German punk-rock band and they became popular thirty years ago. Many people say that their concerts are the best, because they always make jokes on stage and their show is a bit like a cabaret. I was on a concert 2 years ago and it was great. When I listen to their music it always reminds me of their concert in Linz, becasue it was so great for me. My favourite song is 'Himmelblau'. The lyrics are great and the song is absolutely amazing. When I'm sad I just have to listen to this song and I feel much better. The members of 'die Ärzte' are Farin Urlaub, Bela B. and Rodrigo Gonzalez. This year there will also be a concert in Austria and I'm looking forward to seeing 'die Ärzte' again.
